Data Mission Sync automatically schedules synchronizations for all enabled profiles. Syncs run approximately every hour when your profile is enabled and outside of quiet time periods.
Automatic Scheduling
You don't need to configure a schedule — Data Mission Sync handles scheduling automatically:
• Enabled profiles sync approximately every hour
• The system distributes sync timing to balance load across all customers
• Incremental syncs are efficient and typically complete in seconds to minutes
• The 'Next Sync' countdown on your profile shows when the next scheduled sync will run
Quiet Time
Quiet Time allows you to define time windows when scheduled synchronizations are automatically paused. During quiet time, scheduled syncs are skipped (not delayed). Common uses include:
• Maintenance windows when your database may be unavailable
• Peak business hours when you want to minimize system load
• Overnight periods to allow Azure SQL Serverless databases to auto-pause and reduce costs
• Backup windows when database performance may be impacted
| ⚠ Important: Each quiet time block cannot exceed 8 hours. To ensure optimal data freshness and system performance, Data Mission Sync enforces a synchronization at least every 8 hours. If you need longer maintenance windows, configure multiple consecutive quiet time blocks. |
Quiet Time Periods
The Quiet Time Periods section in your profile shows all configured quiet time blocks. If no quiet time is configured, this section displays 'No quiet time schedules configured'.
Click '+ Add Quiet Time Block' to create a new quiet time window. Multiple quiet time blocks can be configured to cover different scenarios.
Run History (Profile View)
The Run History section at the bottom of the profile page shows recent synchronization runs for this profile. Controls include:
| Control | Description |
| Filter | Filter runs by status, table, or date range. |
| Columns | Show or hide columns in the run history table. |
| Live Updates | Toggle automatic refresh to see sync progress in real-time. |
| Refresh | Manually refresh the run history. |
Creating a Quiet Time Block
When adding a quiet time block, configure the following options:
| Field | Description |
| Type | 'Every Day' applies the quiet time window to all days. 'Specific Days' allows you to select which days of the week the quiet time applies. |
| Select Days | (Specific Days only) Check the days of the week when syncs should be paused during the specified time window. |
| Start Time (UTC) | The time (in UTC) when the quiet period begins. Syncs scheduled after this time will be skipped. |
| End Time (UTC) | The time (in UTC) when the quiet period ends. Syncs will resume after this time. |
| ⚠ Important: All times are in UTC. Be sure to convert from your local timezone when configuring quiet time windows. Syncs scheduled during quiet time are skipped, not delayed. | |
